Vision insurance is a form of health insurance that provides coverage for the  cost of services rendered by eye care professionals such as ophthalmologists and optometrists.

One company contracts with national retailers such as Costco and Wal-Mart in addition to private practice eye doctors to create a more flexible network with more options.

The typical vision insurance plan provides yearly coverage  fo the cost for eye examinations and partial or full coverage eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses, with or without copays, depending on the vision insurance plan chosen.

Always check your current health insurance policy for any hidden clauses allowing vision exams or eye surgery.

The cost of LASIK eye surgery or LASIK eye correction, laser eye surgery cost or laser vision correction or other vision-related  issues, in some cases, may be covered by your insurance policy or vision insurance policy.
